So, remember when I used the Cantu Shea Butter Define and Shine Custard last time?  I said I would try it again, making sure to follow the directions.  It said to apply to wet hair…check.  It even suggested using the Cantu Shea Butter Coconut Curling Cream for added moisture…check.  Welp, even after following the “directions for use”, I still ended up getting white build-up/flakies.

Ya know…I’m starting to think “maybe” I’m not using the product as it was intended.  When I read the label again, it said it’s meant to “define” curls…  I’m thinking this is more along the lines of define curls in a “wash n go” type of style (something I don’t do on my hair).  One reason why I would definitely not do a wash n go right now is I’m still recovering from the heat damage I experienced from flat ironing my hair.

I’m going to give this product one more chance.  Instead of drying under heat, I’m going to let it air dry.  I am determined to get this working in my hair.  Hopefully the third time’s the charm.

Anyway, this time around, I used the product in a flexi rod set.

Here’s the style from the side. I pulled the curls up and left a few hanging free in the front.
