What You Will Need
1/2 cup of coconut oil, melted
Eggs: Eggs are rich in protein. Since hair is made up of mostly protein, eggs, which are rich in protein help to thicken your strands. The protein from eggs helps to rebuild hair that is weak and lacking in protein. This strengthening helps to reduce breakage, which ultimately aids in hair growth. Eggs help to restore the natural oils in the hair, making it shiny. Makes hair smoother. Reduce breakage.
Coconut Oil: Coconut oil is also rich in protein, helping to make weak hair stronger.
1. Melt the coconut oil.
2. Add in the egg.
3. Blend well.
4. Apply the mixture to freshly shampooed hair. If your hair has a lot of build up from products, you might want to use a clarifying shampoo first. This will allow the egg + coconut oil conditioner to better penetrate your hair.
5. Cover with a plastic cap.
6. Sit under a hooded dryer (or use a conditioning cap) for about 20 minutes.
7. Rinse out with cool water.
Given that both eggs and coconut oil are rich in protein, you may want to follow up this conditioner with a moisturizing one. Also, make sure you also use a leave in conditioner (one that you don’t rinse out) before moving on to styling.
Make sure you watch the video below to see how I made, and used, the conditioner.
